VANCOUVER STRATHCONA SHINES IN DALLAS

The 2016 – 36th edition of the “Chinese National Tournament” welcomed 73 teams from across the USA, Canada, and China to Dallas, for a weekend of basketball, friendships and fun. Nice to see so many friends continuing to participate in this annual basketball tradition (thanks - Gene Lee, founder).

IMPORTANT: Sincere thanks to so many of you who assisted with the planning and staging of this tournament (NACBA board members, Willis Chun/Team Texas, and the host of volunteers from the board cities).  It is your hard work, team work, passion and dedication that makes this event “SPECIAL”.

Canadian Basketball continues to shine at the 36th Annual NACBA Invitational Basketball Tournament in Dallas, Texas as teams from the Vancouver Strathcona organization captured two championships (Men’s Open & Girls 18u) and were runners-up in the Women’s Open and Men’s Open (Toronto Dragons).  In the Senior 40+ division, Toronto CCYAA claimed their 3rd consecutive championship.  But east coast b-ballers were able to capture a few championships too.  In the always hotly contested Boys 18u division, the NY Young Life Rockits claimed its first 18u title since 2003.  The Boys 15u saw the NY Titans claim their second championship in as many years (2015-boys 18u champs).  They also added the Boys 12u championship.  It didn’t stop there as Lunar NYC captured the Men’s Friendship division.  In the Masters 50+ division, the East Coast Elite (a collection of NJ Pirates, NY Rockits and NY Titans alumni) took top honors and finally, Team Texas took top honors in the Women’s Open.
