Mens Open Elite Division

$700 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description:
The Men’s Elite is our top division where the best of the best have competed for the past 34 years. Last year, LA Alpine came back from a 15 point deficit and then hung on against Washington CYC by the score of 76-74 to win its 10th Elite crown. Expect Alpine (10 titles), Washington CYC (10 Final Fours, 5 Finals since 1999), NY USAB (5 Final Fours since 2004), and the young athletic Cali Davis Dynasty (2013 Final Four) to compete for bragging rights. Additional bracketbusters could include the Toronto Dragons (3 Final Fours), the Boston Hurricanes (3 Final Fours), Vancouver Boiling Point (2012 Open Champs), Vancouver Strathcona (2013 Open Champs), and the NY Cruisers (3 Final Fours).  This division is the pinnacle of Chinese Hoops.

    Mens Open Division

$650 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description: In 2013, a Vancouver team won this division for the second consecutive year.  Following on the heels of the 2012 Vancouver Boiling Point squad, the well coached Vancouver Strathcona team steamrolled their way to a place in NACBA lore by going  undefeated. With Vancouver and FBNYC moving up to the Elite division, the door will be left open for a team such as Markham FCCM (2010 Open Champs, 2013 Final Four) Dallas Team Texas (2013 Final Four), or Philadelphia Fastball (2013 Friendship Champs) to hoist the hardware.  In 2014, we can expect contending squads from historic programs such as the Boston Knights, NY Rockits, NY USAB, Philly Suns, and Washington CYC.  With multiple rim hanging dunk artists, LA WZZE and Toronto Great Wall could surprise and posterize at the same time.

Now, with both Philadelphia teams moving up into the open, we anticipate tough challenges from the NY Falcons, Chicago Dragons B, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and Winnipeg Storm B.

$650 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description: The 2013 Seniors division was dominated by the Chicago Dragons 35’s for a second straight year.  Even a fortified Toronto CCYAA (7 time Champions) couldn't knock off Gene's army.   The Virginia Juggernauts made a strong debut, finishing in second, and we assume that they will be working hard at the gym to make their 2014 appearance just a little sweeter. And never count out guys like the Boston Knights, or the Winnipeg Storm.  Could this be the year that the Philly Suns, NY Rockits, or Washington CYC makes an entry?

    Mens Master 45 Division

$650 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description: The Chicago Dragons have now taken back to back to back titles.  The NY Thunder have done well on the national stage, but they have fallen short a couple times, so if they are able to recruit a couple of the Big Apple's talented elderly men, they are in good position.  Perhaps this is the year that the legendary NJ Pirates or the dynastic SF Saints makes a comeback.   Meanwhile it's time for Toronto CCYAA, the Boston Knights, Montreal MMAC, the NY Fishmen, and all the original NACBA participants to bring their families to Florida for a baller style vacation. The Masters division should be very competitive in 2014.

Eligibility: Open to all participants of direct Chinese descent. Participants must be at least 25% Chinese (at least one grandparent must be 100% Chinese) with the following exception:

    • All participants must be 45 years of age by tournament time to be eligible and can only play for one team throughout the tournament.

    Womens Open Division

$650 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description:  LA Aiya got younger and faster as they added in the right mix of players.  LA was clearly better than everyone else once they got it going, as they won every playoff game by 20 points or more en route to their 5th Championship.  Aiya was superiorly balanced at both ends.  The SF ArcAngels also have 5 titles thanks to their open court attack; so if both teams reach the Finals in 2014, the winner will have the overall NACBA title lead.  The Philadelphia Fastbelles, in their first year at the NACBAIT earned the #1 seed and reached the Final Four, as they have the deepest collection of young talent in the tournament.  The uptempo Vancouver Strathcona, in their second NACBAIT, has also figured out the formula for advancing a little bit further as their relentless defense halts the opposition.  The Toronto Black Dragons (2010 Champs) were upset too early in both 2012 and 2013, so they're going to be hungry. Other teams such as Toronto CCYAA (2006 Champs), Toronto Tigers (2012 Final Four), NY Sabres Green, and Washington CYC have enough talent to contend.

Eligibility: Open to all participants of direct Chinese descent. Participants must be at least 25% Chinese (at least one grandparent must be 100% Chinese)

    • All participants must be at least 14 years old and can play for only one team.
    • Maximum team roster of 12 players.

If a protest is lodged, the burden of proof is on you to prove otherwise. Be sure to bring original copies of parents/grandparents documentation as verification. Failure to do so will result in the player(s) disqualification from the tournament.
    • Use of ineligible players will result in forfeit of any games played and possible team disqualification from the tournament.

    Format: 8 teams.

    • A limit of 8 teams will compete in this division.
    • The Final Four teams from 2013 are guaranteed bids. (LA Aiya, SF ArcAngels, Phila Fastbelles, Vancouver Strathcona)

    • Each team is guaranteed to play in at least 3 games throughout the tournament.

$625 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description:The Washington CYC 18’s once again swept through the 2013 Juniors division in an impressive manner.  However, Toronto CCYAA and the NY USAB/QHCC Warriors are planning for a return to the days when they used to meet each other every single year in the Finals.  Serious challenges should come in the form of the Boston Knights, NY Rockits, and the Winnipeg Storm.   If teams like Philadelphia Fastball, the NY Titans, and the Boston Hurricanes make FLL a destination, we could be in for a tremendous event.  This is the most exciting division in the North American Chinese Basketball Association.

Eligibility: Open to all participants of direct Chinese descent. Participants must be at least 25% Chinese (at least one grandparent must be 100% Chinese).

    • All participants must not have attained the age of 19 before tournament time and can play for only one team during this tournament.

Boys Youth 15 & Under Division

$625 Entry Fee , Plus $100 NACBA fee, Plus $200 Refundable Deposit

Description:The Youth Division is the tomorrow our Tournament. Future stars will learn to handle the pressure of the big games, as they face off with the best young talent from cities across North America. The NY Chinatown Life Rockits had a great trip to Bloomington, as they emerged unscathed through the firestorm. The NY Titans were undermanned but reached the Championship despite their thin bench, so if they are able to bring their entire squad this year, they could make some noise.  NY USAB/QHCC will be looking to get back their swag, but will have fight off stiff challenges from Toronto CCYAA, the Philly Suns, the Chicago Dragons, and the Boston Knights.  The Youth teams always have energy to burn, so if you want to see some fast paced action, take a look here!
