MEN'S FRIENDSHIP

With none of last year’s top 4 teams returning to this division, it could be anyone’s turn for a shot at a Title.  But, there is one clear favorite- the NY ISS Flights.  The Flights have the talent to challenge for the Men’s Open crown, but want to spend one more year against Friendship caliber opponents before moving up.  Anything but a Championship would have to be a big disappointment, as they are bigger, faster and more skilled than anyone else. NACBA Top 18’er George Tang is a 6-4 source of scoring, rebounds, and swats.  Jason Wu (2008, 2009 All-NACBA) keeps improving his game, Ricky Wang is a 6-4 postman who delivers, 6-0 SF William Hu has PG skills, and Peter Nguyen is a long limbed star.  Anthony Yeung and George Leung have been working hard with this team and they hope to emerge victorious.  A good challenge could come from this year’s Pre NACBAIT Friendship Division winner, Phila Fastball B.  Fastball B’s uptempo style and pressing defense might give teams trouble.  Khang Tang and Michael Chau fill the pivot, De Lin is a hustle guy, and trackstar Jimmie Poeng has talent on the wing.  Hung Lam and Peter Hong give this athletic team stellar PG play.  One of the best players in the division could be G Moses Ma (Fleming) of the Toronto CCYAA Downtown Raiders.  The Chicago Rockers are a team that has been playing together for a good number of years, so they have tourney experience as well as quite a few titles.  The New York Falcons have the speed and transition game to make things tough on an opponent.  Dashi Ho has court sense, Henry Lam is a very good player, and Eldwin Qiu has potential.  This is not a team that you want to face in the single elimination portion.

The undersized NY Crossbearers B will look to SG Bao Run Yu to get them some big wins.  The Philly Rising Suns are a mishmash of Juniors and B team guys who’ll get more PT in the Friendship.  Coach Wan will rely on 2007 All NACBA Juniors pick Tommy Le and muscular waiter Alan Ngo.  The Montreal MMAC Mars has been together for about 6 years, and feature small PF Andy Chen as their superstar.  Chris Yee and Tom Tsay will handle the point, and roadrunner Aaron Tsay will play the 2.  With their hard play and solid zone defense, Mars should do well.  The Toronto Blazers have the height to play, and have loads of experience.  Toronto FCCBA features some players who won the Friendship title in 2008 with the Sliders.  If their 3-point shooting barrage is on target, they won’t lose.  The rest of the teams in the Friendship will include the rookie Toronto Shameless, Boston Knights B, and Todd Hsu’s Montreal Kaitas OG
